The painter, graphic artist and photographer was born in Vienna in 1948 and studied architecture at the Vienna University of Technology in 1968, where he graduated in 1976. He then worked as an architect and from 1982 to 2009 was the construction director of the municipality of Korneuburg, where he also lives and works.
He has been working as a visual artist since 1976 and freelance since 2009.

He received his artistic training in the 1970s from Professors Rudolf Eisenmenger and Roland Goeschl, especially in the areas of architectural drawing and nude painting. He mainly works with photography and historical photographic techniques as well as with printing techniques, especially etching.

He attended various seminars for printing techniques (especially etching), watercolor and oil painting - with Michael Fuchs and Markus Lüpertz, among others. Numerous exhibitions at home and abroad.
